Hilton Foundation Come to Agoura Hills

The Conrad Hilton Foundation has now moved into its new headquarters in Agoura Hills, California, away from the hustle and bustle of the Westside of Los Angeles.  The Foundation had purchased a 70 acre parcel of land on Agoura Road, below the gorgeous backdrop of Ladyface Mountain, and has completed its first phase of development, a 23,000 square foot headquarters building.  The Foundation has plans for further development in the coming years to 90,000 square feet of building area.

The property will initially house 40 employees, growing over time to over 100.

The buildings were constructed to exceed the highest platinum LEED certification for energy efficiency.  It is reported that the project will be "net zero energy", obtaining all of its electrical needs from solar panels, amongst many other attributes.  A perfect match for our community here in the Conejo Valley.

The Conrad Hilton Foundation has about $2 billion in assets and provides funds to numerous nonprofit groups around the world.  They have provided an estimated $1 billion to date.

The Foundation president and CEO was quoted in the Daily New this week as saying, "The natural beauty of this particular site, the size of the plot of land, and the overall quality of life in Agoura Hills were among the primary factors in the decision to acquire this site." 

I would like to personally welcome another fantastic neighbor and the many new residents that are employed there to our community of Agoura Hills and the Conejo Valley and I hope they will enjoy a quite, serene and successful future here.

Agoura Hills and the Conejo Valley as a whole is a very special place on this Earth.
